Our girl never stops, does she? Once again, lovely Nova has pulled it out of the bag and created a beautiful piece of art/craft with nothing more than a few scraps and some linen.
And, naturally, she's put together a brilliant tutorial just for you.
Want to know what impressed me the most about this tutorial? This:
Yes, I know it's the back, but it's so gorgeous!
I have ambitions, when we move, of doing that cliched thing that was popularised by the Purl Bee of having a bunch of embroidery hoops with different bits of fabric/embroidery/art arranged beautifully on the wall in my new workspace, and I am now completely inspired by Nova to make the back just as beautiful as the front.
And that's not all...
- Pop over to Nova's right now and check out what this month's scrap challenge giveaway winner has put together with her prize (scroll down to near the bottom of the post for a sneak peek). As soon as I've checked with Maryanne I'll post some pics of her creations here too.
- We have put together some awesome guest challengers for the next few months: the uber-talented Krista (Poppyprint) in July (check her blog for a teeny peek at what's coming from her), mega-blogger Amanda Jea (Crazy Mom Quilts) in August, frame purse and English paper piecer extraordinaire Katy (I'm a Ginger Monkey) in September and scary-skilled-with-the-freezer-paper Kerry (VeryKerryBerry) in October. So excited over here.
- Big plans for a 2012 Scrap Challenge Finale and even bigger plans for the 2013 edition (you didn't think we were going away did you? We love this!)
I know I ened every single scrap challenge post in exactly the same way, but I can't say enough how much I'm loving seeing what Nova and the other fantastic bloggers put together with nothing more than a bag of scraps, or a charm pack, or a couple of fat eighths every month. It's so wonderful to see a fabric that I get so over-excited about used in so many ways that never would have occured to me.
