If you want to see a better picture, then Susan (the recipient of this block) has a few (scroll down the post). I'm slowly catching up with my Brit Bee and EEEP EPP Bee commitments after a spectacular failure to do so in the latter part of 2012.
This block is a Pioneer's Compass, which I downloaded for a bargainous $0.99 from eQuilt Patterns. In fact, there's a whole swathe of traditional quilt blocks on that site. I'm particularly liking this one, which I almost chose instead. I enlarged the pattern by about 40% to end up with a 16.5" block, as opposed to the original 12" block.
You know, I go on and on about not liking foundation paper piecing, but actually I'm getting quite into it. I chose to do this one instead of a more basic pieced one, just because I fancied the challenge. Who'd've thought?
I've got another couple of blocks to go before I'm entirely caught up with all my bee commitments (seriously, if you find posts on bee blocks boring, maybe stop back in a month or so), but it's so lovely to be making headway and not stressing about letting down my lovely bee ladies!
