It takes a really really long time to make a quilt top. I started this in February at a Brit Bee meet up, and it's still a long way from finished. The vertical and horizontal strips are more or less the dimensions I want it to be when finished (60" square), so now it's just a case of filling in the gaps.
This is currently my only EPP project, and there's something really pleasing about never having to engage my brain about which EPP project to take out with me, I just pick up my pink hexies and go. For once, I'm being semi logical about construction, and building blocks of five rows, with each row formed of five hexagons. Because the higher volume pink spots are randomly placed, there is inevitably a bit of gap filling occasionally, but nonetheless it's nice to have a slightly more ordered approach than my usual 'sew hexagons together and work the rest out later' one.
