I've found myself turning to my small supply of vintage fabrics and salvaged cotton shirting more and more often recently. Much as I love both my (insane) Liberty print stash and my somewhat smaller stash of quilting cottons, it often seems like the best way to give a little bit more interest and surprise to a project is to throw in something unexpected like a few stripes of salvaged shirting or a little vintage ditsy floral. I'm blaming Kerry for reminding me of my previous (expensive) hobby of accumulating vintage fabrics - her studio (indeed, her house) is wall to wall inspiration for vintage style projects.
Anyway, since I've started cutting into my vintage fabrics, I've realised that I've probably got far more than I'll ever use, so I'm thinking of putting some fat quarter bundles together for the shop, as well as listing some of the bigger sheets etc as yardage. What do you think? And also, do you think I should list them in bundles like the one above, or keep the shirting and the vintage florals/character fabrics separate? I love using them together, but I'm aware that not everyone will.
